SUICIDE SILENCE To Tour With SLAYER This Summer?

January 23, 2009

California deathcore masters SUICIDE SILENCE are strongly rumored to have landed a support slot on SLAYER's upcoming U.S. tour. The early summer trek, which is expected to be announced on Monday, January 26, will be a co-headlining bill between SLAYER and another, yet-to-be-announced band.

In recent weeks, there have been rumors that SLAYER and MARILYN MANSON would co-headline this summer's Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, although this information has not been corroborated by an official source.

"Unanswered", the latest video from SUICIDE SILENCE, can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Jerry Clubb (AS I LAY DYING, UNEARTH) and it features live footage from last summer's Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival.

Commented vocalist Mitch Lucker: "The 'Unanswered' video highlights a typical day on the Rockstar Mayhem tour that we experienced [last] summer. Every show was incredible and we played to more people than we ever dreamed."

SUICIDE SILENCE last fall wrapped up a highly successful headlining run and is currently completing the writing process for its much-anticipated sophomore release. The headlining trek, dubbed the "Cleansing The Nation" tour, with EMMURE, BENEATH THE MASSACRE, AFTER THE BURIAL and ARCHITECTS, marked the end of the group's massive worldwide touring cycle for "The Cleansing", SUICIDE SILENCE's highly acclaimed debut offering.

Fan-filmed video footage of SUICIDE SILENCE performing a new song, "Vile Creation", on October 6, 2008 at Pop's in Sauget, Illinois can be viewed below.
